Share with me, in the comments or private dm! 😊 I've written a poem about the person who impacted mine, he was an odd, old man who I've now lost touch with. We shared a few conversations, and he gave me a book that somehow sparked my will to write, and from there I started writing poetry and never looked back. Amazing how a stranger can have such an impact. Here is the poem: He showed me the world of literature with just one book, he opened up my world to words Learning to comprise an almost perfect sequence to which they are read Something I could call my own, yet without this person I may have never known There lay a desire to make despair and struggle and turn them into something of wonder Past and present converged into one, the nostalgic presence helps the story unfold Taking anger, and turning it to passion And the ideas poured from me like liquid gold He awoke a fire within me and it spread like wildfire I fed that fire, even the voluminous tides could not put it out When the sun goes down, the passing of day produces colors that flash before our eyes The man in dire suffering dies, longing to be free for so long, finally he flies The lamp when it shuts off, imagination and it's spetrum of dancing colors come to life in the dark When the notebook unfolds, and the blank pages are left for mark Carefully appointed, thought out and repeated Words, the root of all things sacred
