Well my friends, when it rains it pours… I came home from a work trip to find my car window had been smashed in my parkade, my storage unit broken into, and several valuables stolen. The losses aside, the break-in happened at the same time as I got home and went right upstairs to bed… if I had gone through the parking garage for whatever reason I would have run right into the 2 intruders. Living alone downtown is scary enough as a small woman and my building is feeling less and less safe. I’ve lost track of how many break-ins we’ve had since I moved here last year, and I unfortunately have disproportionately experienced the most theft out of everyone. I believe that’s because I have the least expensive car of all of my neighbours, which makes it easier to break into (I don’t want to think about the possibility that I’m being personally targeted). I’m considering moving, but I’m still under a lease and moving is one of my least favourite things to do, because I moved so much growing up and it’s just so much work in general. I also absolutely don’t have time to deal with all of this right now with my work schedule (I don’t even know when I’ll have time to bring my car in to get fixed so it’s just sitting there with a smashed window). The thieves also stole all my insurance and registration paperwork, some other documents, and a folder full of receipts, so I’m very worried that they may be attempting identity theft. If anyone cares to help, I’m fundraising for my insurance deductible which is just $250. My car insurance will only cover replacing the window, and not the stolen items unfortunately, but someone will be calling me tomorrow so I can figure out what to do. I’ll find some way to thank everyone who contributes once life has calmed down somewhat ❤️ Just know I appreciate you all from the bottom of my heart and here is a new pictures from a shoot I did in June!
